This is a review of the L’Oreal Elvive Colour Protect Shampoo and Conditioner. I hope it’s helpful!
So, having gone from a natural blonde to jet black hair, I’m always on the lookout for products that will protect my hair color and keep it alive for longer. So as you can imagine I was very excited when I found this shampoo and conditioner on sale in the supermarket for a reasonable price (€3.00 each) so I thought to myself, hey it’s affordable and it seems like it could be a good product.
As it was an impulse buy I didn’t take time to read any reviews on it so I honestly had no idea what it would be like, all I knew is that it smelt so good, it had a real fruity smell I couldn’t leave it behind, I knew I wanted my hair to smell like that so I went ahead and bought it!
The next day I decided to try my new shampoo and conditioner, to my misfortune the smell didn’t last once I styled my hair. So I was left with odorless albeit very soft hair!
I was having a love-hate relationship with this product. However, after using it a few times, my love-hate relationship quickly turned into just a hate relationship. I started to notice that it was stripping the color from my hair as opposed to protecting it. The hair dye was running down the drain as I would rinse the shampoo from my hair and it started to leave my hair looking really dull. Overall, I don’t see myself purchasing the Elvive Colour Protect range again however, that’s not to say I’m not open to try the other ranges that L’Oreal offer!
Let me know in the comments if you’ve tried this product and what you’ve thought about it!
