Hello loves,
Today’s post is probably one of the first ‘travel’ style posts I’ve done. I always see people asking on Twitter & in Facebook groups about must-visit places in Amsterdam. I’ve been there twice, the first time we didn’t do many tourist bits so I made sure the second time to cram all the tourist things in.
Anne Frank House
There is so much history steeped in this building. As soon as I walked in I could feel the atmosphere change, everyone is so quiet just trying to take it all in & try to imagine what it was like. There can be quite a large queue to get in so I would advise booking tickets in advance online. In my opinion, it’s 100% worth the wait as it’s such a thought-provoking experience.
It’s also right across from a lovely canal so after walking through the house it’s nice to sit beside the canal & just reflect.
Madame Tussauds
This is one of the funniest places I’ve been to. The wax people look so realistic with the exception of a select few. I think my highlight of this please was Ryan thinking a woman was a wax model until she moved & he screamed like a little girl. It’s located right on Dam square too so it’s easily accessible.

Artis Zoo
This zoo is a must-see when you’re in Amsterdam, it’s conveniently right outside a tram stop also. Conveniently yet oddly placed in the center of Amsterdam. It has everything you can think of, we spent most of the day walking around & awwing over all the animals.

Efteling Theme Park
This one isn’t necessarily a thing to do in Amsterdam but if you have the time & you’re in the Netherlands then you need to try to go here. It’s only 1.5 hours away. There is honestly something for everyone in this park, from fairytale walks to heart-pounding rollercoasters, it’s such a magical place.

Even if you don’t get to do any of these things, visiting Amsterdam is a definite must-do. It’s such a unique place, just taking a walk down the canals is breathtaking. There are plenty of shops for my fellow shopaholics too. I can’t wait for my next trip back! Do you have any must-visit places in Amsterdam? Let me know in the comments below!
