For a few months now I have been intrigued by cleansing balms. One, in particular, caught my eye – Trilogy’s Make-up Be Gone Cleansing Balm so I decided to give it a try.
Trilogy is an amazing organic and natural skincare brand, so it was a no brainer when it came to testing out the balm. It comes in a round tub with quite a good amount of product in it, 80ml. It is a thick balm, a similar feel to petroleum jelly. The scent isn’t too overpowering which I love. It is packed with beneficial ingredients such as mango seed butter to soften and smooth the skin, coconut oil to heal and repair, sunflower seed oil to calm and balance the skin, and certified rosehip oil which provides anti-ageing benefits. It has a subtle delicate scent, not over perfumed.
Cleanse and refresh your skin with Trilogy’s Make-up Be Gone Cleansing Balm, a rich, nightly cleanser that works to remove daily grime and makeup from the skin.
So to apply, I took about a half a teaspoon amount onto my fingertips, warmed it up a little between my hands and gently started massaging it into dry skin, mostly focusing on the tough areas such as my eyes and brows or any place where there was waterproof makeup. On first application, I noticed the texture of the balm wasn’t oily like some cleansing balms tend to be. This has a silky smooth feel to it.
As the balm softens it starts to melt the make-up away. I used the organic cloth that is provided with the balm and rinsed it under warm water. Then, gently wipe away the excess make-up and product that was left on the skin.
Trilogy’s Make-up Be Gone Cleansing Balm Overview
After removing the product there is no oily residue left on the skin; instead, my skin feels refreshed and hydrated and not stripped as some cleansers can do. I honestly have never found a product that removed mascara as well as this does. I can 100% see this being my holy grail product. Even using it around my eye area it didn’t cause my eyes to sting or become red.
If you’re a lover of waterproof mascara or even just notice that it takes quite a long time to remove your makeup at night then I would definitely recommend giving this a try.
* Trilogy is a cruelty-free brand; they do not test any of their products on animals.
