What you spend the night before doing has a huge impact on how you feel / how productive you are in the mornings. I like to think of myself as a morning person, my brain is more in tune in the mornings (after I’ve had my coffee of course!) and I have tend to get a lot more do in the early hours. I’m a big believer in routines and I’ve been following these steps in my nightly routine to help me relax in the evenings.
Prepare for tomorrow
plan your day, prepare lunch, get your outfit ready. Whatever will help you save some time in the mornings is worth a few minutes prep at night time.
Set the mood
dim the lights, light a candle, spray some lavender on your pillow. Let your brain know its time to wind down and switch off. Use this time to put your phone away for the night.
Read a book
Find a good book and settle down before bed with it. You’ll increase your sleep quality as you’re not falling asleep on your phone.
Journal
Taking 5 minutes in the evening to write in a journal and reflect on your day will leave you feeling more positive and motivated the next morning. This is the journal that I use each day, I love it because it has daily inputs for both morning and evening.
Spend time on skincare
There is no doubt after a long day you deserve some self-care. Doing a skincare/beauty routine is the best way to settle down for the night. So, apply all of the oils, take 30 mins to do a face mask, slap on some fake tan, whatever make you feel pampered and feeling your best self.
I’ve linked some of my favourite pamper night bits below.

I love preparing for the next day! Seriously makes everything soooo much smoother. Wonderful post and tips!
I’ve been spending a lot more time on my skincare as of late because I’ve not been the best with it during lockdown! I’ve also been trying to set a better routine for myself too x
